Mango Varieties & IdentificationWhat does mother tree mean in a mango identification record?
Clarify whether it means the tree that supplied scionwood or the tree that bore the fruit containing a seed. Scionwood provides a vegetative link, while a seed's relationship depends on its embryo origin. Write the relationship explicitly instead of using mother tree alone. That small distinction prevents later readers from assuming a seedling has the same identity evidence as a graft from a documented source.
