A Brix reading describes soluble solids in the tested juice, not a cultivar's identity. Record the instrument method, ripeness, and which fruit supplied the sample, and follow the instrument's calibration instructions. Compare results with references that explain their own sampling conditions. The number can strengthen a fruit-quality record, but overlapping values and sample differences make it unsuitable as a stand-alone naming test.
