Mango Varieties & IdentificationWhy must mango maturity be recorded during a cultivar comparison?
Harvest-ready fruit and eating-ripe fruit are different observation stages. A comparison can be misleading when one sample is described at picking and another after full ripening. Record both the picking stage and the condition when photographed or tasted, with any holding interval. This allows changes in color, firmness, and flavor to be interpreted as development rather than automatically as evidence of different cultivars.
