Gypsum supplies calcium and sulfur without serving the same pH-raising role as lime. It can be considered when calcium is needed but a pH increase is not the aim. That does not make it a universal treatment for every hard or wet soil. Identify the actual soil issue and obtain an appropriate recommendation before using a calcium product to address an unexplained drainage or growth problem.
