Soil, Fertilizer & WateringWhy can a rising water table stress a mango without visible surface flooding?
Roots can lose access to an adequately aerated soil volume before water reaches the surface. A dry-looking top layer therefore does not rule out excessive wetness below it. Compare symptoms with rainfall, nearby water levels, and root-zone observations. Increasing irrigation in response to wilted leaves can compound the problem when the underlying cause is a high water table rather than drought.
