Soil, Fertilizer & WateringWhy might a mango tensiometer suddenly read zero during dry weather?
A zero reading can reflect instrument failure or loss of reliable operation rather than wet soil. Check water level, seals, ceramic condition, and contact with the surrounding soil according to the instrument instructions. Compare the reading with a direct moisture check and nearby sensors. Do not cancel needed irrigation solely because one gauge changed abruptly without a corresponding rain or watering event.
