Do not collect propagation wood from a suspect tree until the abnormal growth has been assessed. Mango malformation can move with infected budwood, so an apparently usable shoot is not sufficient reassurance. Keep the source tree identified and photograph the symptoms for a plant-health specialist. Sharing a few questionable sticks can distribute a problem much farther than it would otherwise travel within one planting.
