Mango FAQ

Grafting & PropagationWhat does cambium alignment mean in mango grafting?

The cambium is a thin growing layer near the boundary between bark and wood. Grafting brings that living region on the scion into close contact with the corresponding region on the stock. Matching the centers of the stems is therefore not the objective. Before tying, look at the cut edges and confirm where contact actually occurs, then secure the pieces without allowing that alignment to slide.
