A whip graft joins matching sloping cut surfaces on the stock and scion. Similar stem diameters make the surfaces easier to position and bind securely. It rewards accurate cutting, so practice matters more than adding elaborate wrapping afterward. If the available pieces differ greatly in size, select a method that gives clearer cambium contact instead of trying to force a poor match into this form.
