Stone grafting uses a very young seedling while the attached seed still supports its early development. It is a specialized nursery approach that requires coordination between germination and scion preparation. It should not be confused with grafting onto the hard shell of an ungerminated stone. Evaluate whether your nursery can manage delicate seedlings consistently before adopting it simply because it uses younger rootstocks.
