Do not increase irrigation automatically after removing much of the foliage. The plant now has less leaf area using water, so its previous schedule may leave the medium too wet. Check moisture in the root zone and confirm that containers drain freely. Keep the rootstock supplied without treating saturation as a way to hydrate the detached scion; its protection also depends on the graft and nursery environment.
