Grafting & PropagationDoes a green mango scion mean the graft has taken?
Green tissue is encouraging, but it is not conclusive evidence of a functioning union. A protected scion can remain alive for a period without sustained support from the stock. Watch for continuing growth and maturation rather than declaring success from color alone. In nursery records, distinguish an initially live scion from a finished plant that has passed aftercare and can tolerate ordinary handling.
