Grafting & PropagationCan mango topworking be done in stages?
A staged conversion can retain selected branches while replacement grafts become established. Those retained branches need a defined purpose and a later removal plan so they do not permanently dominate the new canopy. Mark the intended framework before work begins. On a backyard tree, staging also allows the grower to learn how the first grafts respond before repeating the process across the remaining structure.
