Mango FAQ

Grafting & PropagationWhen might a bark graft be used on an old mango limb?

Bark grafting is an option for some topworking situations where a small scion is joined to a much larger cut limb. It requires an appropriate bark condition and a method for protecting and supporting the exposed area. It is a different job from splitting a young seedling stem. Use an experienced propagator for valuable old trees when the cut size and resulting framework make mistakes costly.
