Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Flowering & PollinationHow small are individual mango flowers, and how can I inspect them?

Open mango flowers can be about 1/4 inch across, so a distant canopy photograph hides important structures. Use a hand lens or a focused close-up while supporting a reachable cluster gently. Include a view showing where the flower sits on the panicle rather than photographing only loose petals. Magnification helps distinguish reproductive parts and small visitors, but it does not replace testing when the question concerns pollen viability or a microscopic pathogen.
