Flowering & PollinationCan a flowering mango inside a screened enclosure receive enough insect visits?
Screening changes access even if the enclosure has adequate light and temperature. Watch whether insects can reach open flowers rather than assuming ventilation openings also provide effective pollinator entry. Where pest exclusion is essential, plan an appropriate pollination method within that system. Mango breeding cages use deliberately managed pollinators; an enclosed backyard tree should not be expected to reproduce those conditions merely because it has produced panicles.
