Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Flowering & PollinationCan pollinator counts be compared when mango trees have different amounts of open bloom?

Raw insect totals can be misleading when one tree offers far more open flowers than another. Record the amount and stage of bloom alongside the observation effort. Use comparable clusters or a consistent observation area when comparing activity. This helps distinguish a true difference in visitation from the simple fact that one tree supplied a larger display, and avoids interpreting a sparse late panicle as representative of a heavily flowering canopy.
