Mango FAQ

Flowering & PollinationDoes pollen carried on an insect prove that it pollinated a mango flower?

Pollen on the body shows carriage, but effective pollination also requires delivery to a receptive surface. The insect's contact with the flower and its movement between visits therefore matter. Research measurements of pollen loads are useful evidence without being identical to direct measurements of deposition. For grower observations, describe what was seen rather than turning a visible dusting or a large insect into proof of completed pollination.
