Mango FAQ

Flowering & PollinationWhat does anthesis mean in mango flowering reports?

Anthesis refers to the opening of an individual flower, rather than the first appearance of a panicle. That distinction matters when comparing bloom observations or following a research procedure. A cluster can be visible while many of its flowers remain closed. Record both panicle emergence and flower opening when timing matters, so an instruction referring to anthesis is not applied simply because a branched flower stalk can be seen.
