Flowering & PollinationWhat does anther dehiscence mean on a mango flower?
It means the pollen-bearing anther opens to release pollen. A flower being visibly open does not necessarily establish that its anther is releasing usable pollen at that moment. When observing pollen supply, distinguish the flower's opening stage from the condition of its anther. This vocabulary is particularly useful when discussing a hand-pollination trial with an adviser, because it clarifies which event was actually observed.
