Flowering & PollinationWhich part of a mango flower receives pollen?
The stigma is the receiving surface of the female structure in a bisexual flower. It is different from the anther, which supplies pollen, and from the petals that make the flower easier to notice. Use a magnified reference image when learning the distinction. During any small hand-pollination experiment, the intended contact is with the receptive structure, so dusting petals alone does not demonstrate that the transfer was made correctly.
