Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Flowering & PollinationWhy can mango flowers be injured while surrounding mature leaves still look healthy?

Different tissues do not have identical sensitivity to weather, and delicate reproductive growth can be affected without conspicuous damage across the mature canopy. Inspect buds and flowers directly after a cold episode instead of using leaf appearance as the only indicator. Include the timing of injury relative to flower opening. A green tree can still have lost part of its bloom, so canopy color alone cannot settle a flower-damage question.
