Compare treated trees with similar untreated trees through the same season, recording shoot stage and weather as well as visible bloom. Define whether the objective is earlier emergence, more flowering terminals, or more synchronized opening. These are different outcomes and should not be exchanged after results are seen. A treatment followed by bloom on one tree cannot separate its influence from the seasonal conditions that also affected the rest of the planting.
