Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Fruit Development, Ripening & HarvestHow should mango yield forecasts be revised after a wet flowering period?

Wet flowering weather can reduce successful fruit production, so revise a forecast using retained fruit rather than the earlier flower display. Recount the same representative trees after set and keep heavily affected areas identifiable. Avoid applying one orchard-wide reduction based on the appearance of a few panicles. Updated counts give picking, packing, and sales plans a firmer basis than the crop potential estimated before the wet period.
