Fruit Development, Ripening & HarvestHow can mango fruit retention be expressed as a percentage?
For a defined group, divide the number of fruit still attached by the number originally counted as fruitlets, then multiply by 100. Keep the starting date and group identity with the result. Do not compare that percentage directly with one calculated from total flowers, since the denominator represents a different stage. Reporting the actual counts alongside the percentage makes small samples easier to interpret.
