Fruit drop alone does not identify a missing nutrient. Review watering, weather, pests, and the existing fertilizer program before adding more material. Where a nutritional problem is suspected, use appropriately collected soil and leaf samples and interpret them with local guidance. Recording the current program first also prevents an adviser from having to reconstruct what the tree received after symptoms began.
