Detached mangoes left in direct sun can heat up and develop surface injury while waiting for collection. Establish the shaded holding point before picking begins and move fruit there as part of each collection cycle. Keep an eye on shifting shade during the day. A tree's morning shadow is not a reliable all-day storage location for filled harvest containers.
