A field container should protect fruit from rough contact, dirt, punctures, and crushing while remaining practical to clean and carry. Inspect the interior and handles before use, and remove damaged containers from the harvest route. Match the fill level to the fruit's condition and the container design. More capacity is not useful when the bottom layer arrives with pressure damage.
