Feeding injury can affect appearance and may provide entry points for decay, so record both the insect signs and the tissue condition. Do not infer that every skin mark is an active infestation. Keep suspicious fruit separate while identification is obtained, particularly when moving fruit between regulated areas. Early sorting also makes the orchard damage pattern easier to investigate.
