Resinous or piney notes can occur in mango flavor profiles and should not automatically be equated with decay. Consider whether the flesh is sound and whether the aroma resembles the normal character of that fruit type. Distinguish this from fermentation, obvious rot, or a newly abnormal odor. A preference against resinous flavor is a sensory preference rather than proof of mishandling.
