Flavor, Quality & StorageWhy may a seed-grown mango taste unlike the fruit its seed came from?
Seed propagation does not always preserve the parent fruit's genetic identity, so an offspring can have different eating qualities. Evaluate the new tree's own sound, properly ripened crop rather than assigning the parent's flavor description to it. Keep observations over more than one harvest. If consistent fruit identity is important when obtaining a tree, ask the nursery how the named selection was propagated.
