The National Mango Board gives up to five days for whole ripe mangoes, but that is not a guarantee for fruit already bruised, overripe, or deteriorating. Mark when the fruit went in and inspect it before use. Buy amounts that fit your likely consumption rather than planning around the maximum. If a sound ripe surplus is developing, prepare it for freezing before quality declines.
