Infections can remain quiet in green fruit and become visible as the mango ripens. A clean appearance at picking therefore does not establish that infection happened in the kitchen or packing shed. Keep fruit from different trees or harvest dates separate while investigating recurring losses. Recording which lots develop lesions helps connect the problem with orchard conditions and avoids blaming every failure on storage hygiene alone.
