Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Pests, Diseases & DisordersIs witches-broom growth on a mango enough to identify bud mites?

No. Bunched terminal growth warrants closer examination, but appearance alone does not establish a mite diagnosis. Mango bud mites are too small for dependable identification by an unaided look at the shoot. Submit affected buds through a diagnostic service and include any abnormal flowers. This is especially important when a grower is considering a miticide, because a malformed shoot can have causes that such a treatment will not address.
