Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Pests, Diseases & DisordersCan spongy mango flesh be diagnosed as an insect problem without finding insects?

An unusual texture alone does not establish insect damage. Cut through the affected area and look for tunnels, frass, larvae, cavities, or a consistent internal breakdown pattern. Photograph the cut surface promptly and retain the seed when it may be involved. Distinguishing a physiological disorder from feeding injury matters because an insecticide cannot repair internal fruit development problems or explain a disorder that appears only as fruit ripens.
