Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Pests, Diseases & DisordersDoes the presence of thrips in mango flowers automatically justify spraying?

No. First establish which insects are present and whether feeding damage accompanies them. Tap representative panicles over a light surface, keep samples identified by tree, and examine flowers that are still alive. Counts are useful only when collected consistently and interpreted with local guidance. A few insects on a declining panicle do not prove that they caused the decline, particularly when weather or disease could explain the same loss.
