Pests, Diseases & DisordersHow can I tell whether scale insects on mango are still active?
Old scale covers can remain attached after the insects die, so persistent bumps are not a reliable measure of treatment failure. Examine fresh colonies with magnification and ask an adviser to help distinguish living scales, empty covers, and parasitized insects. Photograph the same marked area over time. Base further action on active infestation and new injury rather than the continued presence of every old mark on the leaf.
