Pests, Diseases & DisordersWhat should I check when white cottony insects gather around mango fruit stems?
Mealybugs are a possibility, particularly where waxy colonies occupy protected crevices. Inspect the fruit attachment, nearby leaves, and touching branches, and collect a close photograph of an individual as well as the colony. Do not confuse insect wax with powdery mildew solely from its white color. Assess how widely colonies occur before choosing removal, biological conservation, or a labeled treatment appropriate to the actual infestation.
