Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Pests, Diseases & DisordersHow can I investigate suspected fruit fly larvae inside mangoes?

Open representative affected fruit over a tray and photograph the larvae, surrounding flesh, and any skin punctures. Keep the fruit's origin and harvest date recorded, because regional fruit fly species and movement rules differ. A larva inside rotting flesh is not enough for a reliable species identification. Ask the local plant health service how to preserve or contain specimens rather than mailing live insects or carrying fruit across a boundary.
