Examine the seed as well as the surrounding flesh. Mango seed weevil develops within the seed, so checking only the edible portion can miss an infestation. Keep cut fruit and seeds associated with their source tree when investigating a block. A nursery that uses its own seeds should also record the source lot, because damage that seems minor for eating quality can matter for propagation and movement of planting material.
