Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Pests, Diseases & DisordersAre spider webs in mango branches evidence that the tree needs spraying?

A web alone does not establish a mango pest problem. Observe the occupant and look for actual feeding damage, since predators and plant-feeding insects use different kinds of silk structures. Mango shoot looper can also be associated with old webs, so blanket assumptions in either direction are unhelpful. Photograph occupants and damage together, then target any intervention to the identified organism rather than clearing every web in the canopy.
