Climate, Cold & Container GrowingShould warmer recent winters change my mango frost-protection plan?
Recent warmth can change the frequency of cold events without eliminating them. Review the longer site record and retain a workable plan for an unusual freeze, particularly where a tree has outgrown its original cover. For new plantings, consider the consequences of losing trees or repeated crops as well as average conditions. A run of mild winters is useful evidence, but it does not test the protection system during a rare severe event.
