Check the canopy and container separately, especially where the pot receives direct afternoon sun. Temporary shelter from the most intense exposure may be useful, but avoid transferring the tree to deep shade indefinitely. Delay elective repotting or major pruning while conditions are severe. Record which surfaces and leaves become hottest so future placement protects the root zone without sacrificing the light needed during ordinary weather.
