Choose a bright position with reasonably stable conditions rather than placing the tree directly in a hot air stream or beside a frequently opened exterior door. Check leaf-level conditions when heating operates and when outdoor temperatures fall. Keep enough clearance for leaves to avoid cold panes and hot equipment. This placement review is especially useful after rearranging a room, when an apparently similar location may expose the tree very differently.
