The move changes light, temperature, humidity, and root-zone drying at the same time. Record the timing of leaf loss and inspect whether stems and buds remain viable before making several corrective changes. Check the new environment and container drainage first, then monitor subsequent growth. Some adjustment may occur, but rapid or continuing defoliation should not be accepted automatically as a normal winter habit of an evergreen tree.
