The tree may no longer be functioning as a fully contained, readily movable specimen. Inspect the base periodically and support the pot so its condition can be checked without tearing established roots. If substantial roots have escaped, plan separation and aftercare before an emergency move. Dragging the tree indoors on the first cold night can then damage roots that have become important to the canopy.
