Do not make complete bare-rooting an automatic step for every tree. Examine the existing mix and roots, then decide what disturbance is needed for the particular problem. Institutional planting guidance differs in how it handles nursery media, and moving into field soil is not identical to routine container maintenance. For a valuable tree with a serious substrate problem, obtain a specific plan instead of stripping healthy roots simply to achieve a uniform new mix.
