Several independently rooted seedlings can emerge from a polyembryonic seed, but branching on one stem is a different observation. Inspect where shoots join before deciding how many plants you have. Photograph the seed and stem bases if the distinction is unclear, and avoid tearing them apart merely to count them. For an embryony study, record ambiguous cases explicitly rather than forcing every stone into a confident category.
