Fruit flavor describes the mother tree's fruit, while rootstock usefulness concerns the performance of a different part of a future tree. Seed health, genetic consistency, compatibility, and behavior beneath the intended scion need separate assessment. A delicious fruit can supply an interesting experimental seed without establishing any of those qualities. Keep tasting notes in the collection record, but do not use them as a rootstock rating.
