Seeds, Rootstocks & BreedingWhy is one exceptional mango trial tree insufficient to recommend a rootstock?
One tree cannot reveal how consistently a treatment performs or whether its position was unusually favorable. Include independent trees and preserve their individual measurements instead of reporting only the best example. The amount of replication should fit the variability and purpose of the trial, preferably with statistical advice. Treat an exceptional tree as a reason for further testing, especially before a nursery or grower commits substantial acreage.
